Magnificient old but fancy – Istanbul

Stopping in Thessaloniki and searching there for bathing was our idea but we really wanted to make it to the “secret hint” we got, so we drove more then one-and-a-half hours through Greece and were not sure, if we ever come back to the town we started. But it was worth to go there, even if German tourists were already there. :)
After this short Greek adventure we went to Istanbul with the night-train, that is not known to German railway system bahn.de – but there is one and so we went to this acient town and ignored this town first day totally by going to the Prince-islands in the Marmara-mare and enjoyed the beach there. In the evening we managed to go to Haman with some Airbus-managers, that actually trained rugby to Turkish kids these days… and were overwhelmed afterwards, felt almost drunken so relaxed we were… maybe the picture introduce this a bit. Next day we managed to see big parts of the town, but the most amazing picture was to awake with the Hagia Sofia in the eyes… only few hundred meters away, as you see attached. Istanbul is an amazing city with ancient history, great tradition but lively and fancy bars, neigbourhood and people. Very much worth to see and enjoy – for more than one day!
