Sunburn in Maun
Oct 27th, 2008 by bjoern
After ten hours with the mega-fast bus from Gaborone, that was sometimes overspeeding even 140 km/hour I arrived well in Maun, in the Okavango-delta and enjoyed myselfes yesterday on a boat trip through the great waterworld with magnificient birds and rhinos. Unfortunatly a sunburn reminds me today on this adventure.
But this doesn’t matter cause today was regional parliament day and I helped the Botswana National Youth Council introducing their idea of a national youth forum and together we convinced the 40 parliamentarians… mainly male ones, that liked talking. Gender is still not so much wellknow over here, only one female parliamentarian was around. But it was great to see, that similiar questions like in German parliaments were raised, why young people should have a saying and that some politicians were even afraid, that they could take their seats some days…
