And it finally started and the unbelievable project got reality… 101 participants entered the Afghan National Assembly, Meschrano Jirga, and started their sessions. And from these people we have 52 girls from the highschools of Kabul, which is a great sucess!

All of them were selected in an open election process by the Independent Election Commission and the project is run by the National Assembly, Ministry of Culture an Youth and UNDP Seal. And all effort paied back by the highly motivated participants and their work in the commitees, e.g. for media or education. Together with our five international colleagues and around 10 national trainers we faciliated their work and together we realise a resolution with around 60 articles, as “voice of Afghanistan”.

Perfect arrived in Kabul!

After great flights about Munich and Dubai, where I first experienced a first-world and afterwards a third-world airport I arrived perfect and fine in Kabul. From the mountains I had a great overview about the city but specially the huge mountains arround, snow covered. Together with Ursula Koch-Laugwitz, the office leader of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation, I checked out Kabul and realized, that itÂ´s rainy, misty and dirty. But they say, that the spring will start soon and I will forget about this weather afterwards very fast. LetÂ´s hope so. ;)

Today I am the first day in my new office and hope for great work. Thats gonna be a great challenge here, as I like it. :)
